English - B1 tram 2001 has been sitting around for a few months waiting on a new set of wheels. I turned the key and powered up the tram. Here is a view from 19th September 2017 where I take you for a walk around the whole tram. No commentary just a video walk. The prototype B1 tram 2001 was built in 1984 along with 2002. The class featured Air Brakes and a drop down step for disabled access. The B1 class was the first articulated tram for Melbourne. During the walk around you will hear the compressor pumping up the brakes and inside the passenger saloon the trademark plastic type material pull down blinds can be seen as well. Based at Preston Workshops, 2001 when in service can be seen on routes 11 and 86. Filmed 19th September 2017 Preston Workshops.
