DESCRIPTION: Muslim's Goodness to People - an ImanNest Khutbah - by Br Ismail of HikmahWay Institute As Muslims we are enjoined to fulfill: 1) Rights of Allah (SWT) - i.e. to worship ALLAH through fasting, praying, zakah etc 2) Rights we owe to each other - i.e. good relations with everyone Belief in ALLAH and obedience to HIM (fasting, praying etc) must be accompanied with goodness to people to be a true believer as we cannot do one while neglecting the other. In Surat ul Nisa, ALLAH says: And Worship Allah and don't associate any partners with me and be good to the parents, the near relatives, orphans, poor people, neighbours - relatives and non-relatives, companions accompanying you on a journey, travelers and those whom your right hand possess. From the hadith of the prophet on the Authority of Abu Hurairah who said the messenger of ALLAH SAW said "everyday that the sun rises a charity is enjoined upon each of our joints: to do justice between two people is a charity, to help a man with his mount - lifting him up onto it or helping him with his bagagge onto it is a charity, a good word is a charity, every step you take to perform the prayer is a charity and removing a harmful thing from the road is a charity.
