New GREY MARKET Episode: "Inside 2025's First Dealer Exclusive Watch Show! (it's WILD!)" • Inside 2025's First Dealer Exclusive Watch... -~- The first official minute repeater watch came to life in 1892 (Louis Brandt) but minute repeater clocks have existed since 1676 (Edward Barlow). They were particularly useful prior to modern day electricity. 💡 One could not so easily check the time but they could certainly HEAR it. 👂 💎 Find your next watch @ http://bit.ly/2ksIZTi In today's episode, Battle of the Minute Repeaters, you'll get to witness six different minute repeaters in all of their glory. Because different watch shapes and metals affect the sound of the movement, I have watches in both traditional and non-traditional shapes, as well as in gold, platinum, titanium and white gold. You're tuned into episode 84 of What's On My Desk (WOMD). Let the Battle of the Minute Repeaters begin! 👉 For all of you Independent Watchmaker lovers out there 😍 I'll be featuring watches from both Jean Dunand and Svend Andersen today! Mechanically speaking, minute repeaters are some of the most complicated watches that exist, with the grand sonnerie being the most intricate. ⚙️ While there is no longer a need for them, they are still viewed as being extremely valuable due to the history and complex nature they represent. Minute repeaters call for countless parts and a lot of labor, which is why they're usually so expensive, reserved for those who can pay for the luxury. Some may refer to these decorated movements as "novelty" pieces but that word need not apply here. (Drag and drop to the recycle bin 🗑️.) Not when the following synonyms are "doodad" and "knickknack." ✘ doodad: a gadget or other object whose name the speaker does not know or cannot recall ✘ knickknack: a small worthless object, especially a household ornament A minute repeater isn't a petty thing but it sure as hell is an INNOVATIVE one. Much has changed in in the world of studying and measuring time since then, and it's clear just how much art has inspired watch design throughout centuries but watchmakers STILL create minute repeaters to prove their skill, to display their worthiness, and to show you that they too respect, and want to pay tribute to, the history of horology. 💬 In your opinion, what's the best sounding minute repeater out of all of the ones I presented you with today? ________________________________ ⚙️ WATCHES IN THIS EPISODE ✚ Jean Dunand Shabaka Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar ✚ Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Minute Repeater Tourbillon 26050PT.OO.D002CR.01 l http://bit.ly/2mkLUy0 ✚ Svend Andersen Minute Repeater Retrograde Perpetual Calendar ✚ Corum Admiral's Cup Legend 46 Minute Repeater Acoustica 102.109.69/0001 AK12 l http://bit.ly/2m32HW5 ✚ Concord Saratoga Grand Master 🖐️ WHAT'S ON MY WRIST ✚ Jaeger-Lecoultre Master Minute Repeater Antoine Lecoultre Watch Q164T450 l http://bit.ly/2mkLZSk ________________________________ ⭐ FOLLOW ME HERE ► Instagram: http://bit.ly/2KoESBO ► Facebook: http://bit.ly/2Koiqco ► Twitter: http://bit.ly/2KnoFwL 👑 FOLLOW MY COMPANY HERE ▷ Official Site: http://bit.ly/2ksIZTi ► Instagram: http://bit.ly/2KpwuCh ► Facebook: http://bit.ly/2KoF2co ► Pinterest: http://bit.ly/30kMP0t #romansharf #art #design #innovation #watch #tech #luxury #history #time #watches
