'Arsonist' caught on CCTV setting fire to Hindu temple in London

Police are hunting the suspected firebug after the blaze struck Adhya Shakti Mataji Temple in Hillingdon, London, on May 28. CCTV footage shows the hooded suspect entering the enclosed area at the front of Adhya Shakti Mataji Temple in Hillingdon, London, shortly after midnight on May 28, carrying a jerry can. He then appears to empty its contents on some chairs before lighting a match, flicking it on his petrol pyre and causing a ball of flame to leap into the air. He then flees into the night. The fire badly damaged a temporary building in Cowley High Street, but the adjacent temple itself was not damaged. Police are appealing for anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV images to come forward, and to anyone who might have seen anything suspicious. Report by Matt Blake.
