Bribery and corruption are happening all the time, but would you be able to spot it? This video looks at bribery and corruption today and the areas where it's most likely to appear. It's based on the serious fraud office's list of bribery indicators. These indicators can point to a corrupt relationship where bribery could be taking place and this video explores these in five areas: payments, gifts, a person’s behaviour, documentation and when organisations are working on projects which involve tendering and contracts. It’s an offence if commercial organisations fail to prevent someone associated with them from bribing someone on their behalf, so everyone involved in finance should be able to spot the indicators, know what to do when they suspect bribery and corruption and protect themselves and the organisations they work for from reputational damage.
