Ssmpling and rearranging a sample with Yellofier. Hello and welcome to the sound mix lab I am your host Dj Puzzle and this is a segment of my show I call the App Attack. This is the first in a series of videos for making music with an iPad. Now I've been a fan of vinyl ever since I was a wee little boy in the 70s. Later on in the 90s I became a Dj and played some cool gigs. One of my biggest influences would have to be Dj Shadow. He composed an entire album based on samples from old records. In this episode I will show you how to sample vinyl beats into an iPad and remix them using an app called Yellofier by Boris Blank of the Swiss group Yello. You know the one "Oh Yeah". I have hundreds and hundreds of old vinyl records with lots of cool old crusty beats but in this case to make things simple I'm going to use this compilation record of 200 beats that I found at Amoeba records here in Los Angeles. Now you can go crate digging at places like resale shops and goodwill and I highly recommend doing so as you will be surprised with what you can find for just 2 dollars.
