If you are suffering from a few acne spots here and there, apply a little amount of concealer. The right application technique would help you focus only on those spots without using any other makeup products ovzer the entire face. Step 1: Using a Suitable Moisturiser Using a moisturiser suitable for your skin condition and type is highly essential. Make sure that the moisturiser causes no irritation for further breakouts! Put a little moisturiser on your fingertips and gently apply it all over your face. Let it soak into the skin before moving on to the next step. Step 2 “Optional”: Applying Green Concealer to Neutralise Focussing exclusively on the redness: Depending on the degree of the redness caused by your acne, use a green color correcting concealer to neutralise it. The green concealers come in different formulae: liquid, cream or powder. Choose one according to your skin type and preference to make the skin look smooth and blended at the end. Apply the green concealer only over the redness. Use only a tiny amount so that you can see the reduction of your redness. You should not look like Shrek! To keep it as clean as possible, take a little amount of the concealer from the applicator or spatula and put it on the back of your hand. Using a small dense brush, sponge or your fingertips, apply it on the acne spots. Then blend it into the skin, leaving no strange lines or harsh edges. Step 3: Apply a Skin-Toned Concealer Now that the green concealer has cancelled out any redness, move on to the skin-toned concealer. Again, to keep the application as clean as possible, put a little amount of the concealer on the back of your hand. Then apply it directly with a small brush, sponge or your fingertips to the acne spots, ensuring to blend it into the skin without leaving any harsh edges. You will realize whether you have used the right amount of the green concealer while applying the skin-toned concealer. If it is easy to cover up, you have used the right amount. If you can still see the green color looking through, you have probably used too much. You will also realize whether the concealer is of the right tone for you skin. While blending it, you should not see a difference in its color! Depending on your skin type and preference, you now can set the concealer with a little amount of face powder. Do not use too much or it would look very dry. Keep in mind, you only can correct the color of your breakouts but you cannot hide the bumps. Step 4: Finish the Rest of Your Makeup Now that you have hidden your acne with makeup, move on and finish the rest of your makeup and do not forget to set your makeup with a bit of face powder.
