NYSD Safety Drill - January 2023

January 31, 2023 Hello Fanwood Parents/Guardians, The safety of our students is of the utmost importance at New York School for the Deaf. NYSD's Safety Committee works throughout the year on creating and implementing procedures that will keep our school as safe as possible during an emergency. We wanted to make you aware that today we had a Lockdown drill. Detailed instructions are provided to our staff members to ensure that the drill is carried out safely, smoothly, and without causing any unnecessary stress for our students. Additionally, the Greenburgh Police Department was on campus during the drill to provide feedback and advice. The goal of this exercise is to increase precision through practice. Please take the opportunity to discuss the purpose of practicing emergency drills with your child at home.
