Before breweries would decide or commit to a beer can design or packaging change ,ad agencies would propose various layouts & design variations.These were usually done with foil or paper labels, which were wrapped around cans. Or, they would do actual metal mock-ups of cans for review, revisions and criticism. Or even render the design by hand-with markers or paint on a paper wrap.
