Fue titulada en Hispanoamérica como Los Caballeros del Zodíaco y La Gran Batalla de los Dioses, y en España como Los Caballeros del Zodiaco: La Batalla Ardiente de los Dioses. Se estrenó en 1988. Seiya llega al palacio Valhalla donde se enfrenta al Dios Guerrero Loki. Derbal, el Gran Maestro de Asgard aparece y manifiesta su descontento, ya que todos los Dioses Guerreros han caído. Seiya se enfrenta a Derbal, el cual demuestra ser un enemigo poderoso, destruyendo la Armadura de Pegaso, además, usa su técnica Escudo de Odín para encerrar al Santo de Pegaso, pero es salvado por Shun. Nuevamente, Seiya está a punto de ser derrotado por Derbal, pero aparece Hyōga liberado del control mental y ataca a Derbal, pero es derrotado; Seiya es atacado; Sin embargo, Ikki de Fénix recibe el ataque. The main theme undergoes variation, but maintaining a recognizable rhythm, even more so when the chorus (baritones and tenors) and Kawashima interpret it. M-12: Hyoga confronts Derbal. It starts with an intriguing string ensemble, but in B it gets more rhythm. Also, it makes use of a familiar motif from the soundtrack (Fly! Pegasus). In C it loses tempo and the strings regain prominence, playing long notes. M-13: Ikki receives the attack instead of Seiya.
