It is 1200 BC in the Eastern Mediterranian and there have been muliple records of mysterious and powerful invaders from the sea. Led by their hulking patriarch Walwetes (some might say Goliath), the Peleset embrace a different approach to conquest. They’ve come ashore to Canaan searching for a new home and are willing to stand against Egypt to carve a kingdom for themselves. The ox carts of the Peleset usually carried women and children being drawn by many oxen, usually four. In the well-known story of the return of the ark of the covenant (1 Samuel 6:7), the Golden Ark was placed on a wooden cart and sent back to Israel. The Peleset drive to find a new land for their people means little for settled Bronze Age society. They must make a place for themselves amonst this chaotic time in history.
