Mountains are formed through various geological processes, and the process can take millions of years. One of the most common ways in which mountains are formed is through the collision of tectonic plates. For more videos: https://bit.ly/44qpZ8N Tectonic plates are the large pieces of the earth's crust that float on the molten rock beneath. When two plates collide, the force of the collision causes the earth's crust to crumple and fold, resulting in the formation of mountains. This process is known as orogenesis. Another way in which mountains are formed is through volcanic activity. When molten rock, ash, and other materials are ejected from a volcano, they can accumulate over time and form a mountain. These types of mountains are known as volcanic mountains. A third way in which mountains are formed is through erosion. Over time, wind, rain, and other natural forces can wear away the surface of the earth, creating valleys and canyons. Mountains can form when these valleys and canyons are uplifted and pushed upward by tectonic activity. Regardless of how they are formed, mountains are awe-inspiring natural wonders that continue to inspire and captivate us. From the jagged peaks of the Himalayas to the towering ridges of the Rocky Mountains, these magnificent geological formations remind us of the incredible power and beauty of the natural world.
