This event, also known as the 2025 China Victory Day Parade, took place at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. The parade featured over 12,000 troops of the People's Liberation Army and was inspected by Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping. New and upgraded military equipment was showcased, including various advanced weapons systems like hypersonic missiles, nuclear-capable ballistic missiles, stealth fighter jets, and tanks. The parade highlighted the modernization of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), demonstrated advancements in China's defense industry, and reinforced the Communist Party's authority over the military. The event was attended by 26 foreign leaders, including the presidents of Russia and North Korea. During its military parade on September 3, 2025, China displayed a wide range of new and advanced domestically produced weaponry, including a full nuclear triad, hypersonic missiles, advanced drones, and directed-energy weapons. Hypersonic and anti-ship missiles: Yingji series: A new family of hypersonic anti-ship missiles was showcased, including the YJ-17, YJ-19, YJ-20, and YJ-21. The YJ-19 is a scramjet-powered weapon designed to fly faster than Mach 10.
