The wheel was later adapted for transportation around 3500–3350 BC, with the first wheeled vehicles appearing in both Mesopotamia and Eastern Europe. The Olmecs lived from approximately 1200 BC to 400 BC, making them over 3,400 years old as a civilization. They were the first major civilization in Mesoamerica and are considered the “mother culture” for later civilizations like the Maya and the Aztec.
