Windsor, England: A Historic Riverside Town Nestled on the banks of the River Thames in Berkshire, Windsor is one of England’s most historically significant towns, best known for its royal connections, charming streets, and rich heritage. A Brief History Windsor's history dates back to the early medieval period, when William the Conqueror established Windsor Castle in the late 11th century as part of a defensive ring around London.
