Colombia has been gaining in popularity these past few years, and for good reason. With amazing food, nice people, and a rich culture, it has quickly become a dream for travelers, budget backpackers, and digital nomads. In 2022, I spent 75 days living and traveling through Colombia, and I tracked every single expense. I've broken it all down into 6 main categories, including Food, Accommodation, Transportation, Tours/Activities, Necessities, and extras. The prices in the video are in Canadian dollars, but I have provided an exchange below for USD. The costs are as follows: Food: $988.04 CAD $734.14 USD Accommodation: $1,210.25 CAD $899.25 USD Transportation: $396.60 CAD $294.69 USD Activities/Tours: $175.60 CAD $130.48 USD Necessities: $237.01 CAD $176.11 USD Extras: $349.21 CAD $259.47 USD All coming together for a total of $3,356.70 CAD or $44.76 CAD per day. After conversion, the total was $2,494.13 USD and only $33.26 USD per day. Keep in mind that these expenses are directly related to my trip and my experiences but your trip will likely be different. Your itinerary can be completely different from this one, either cheaper or more expensive, but this is a good baseline budget for you to travel through Colombia.
