History San José is a museum and cultural campus that reflects the diverse history of San José and the Santa Clara Valley through exhibitions, festivals, educational programs, and academic research. We believe that our historic sites at History Park, the Gonzales/ Peralta Adobe, and the Carmela and Thomas Fallon House inspire community-building and learning across cultures; that our events and festivals offer educational, family-friendly fun, fostering intergenerational bonds; that the 130,000 artifacts in our archives and collections reveal threads in the fabric of our shared story; and that our Education Programs equip over 10,000 young people each year with vital critical thinking skills. We strive to provide equitable access to our programs by keeping History Park admission free, offering free digital access to 90,000 artifacts, hosting free and low-cost community events, and leading free field trips for over 2,300 local students each year. History San José ensures that the rich, diverse history of San Jose is accessible and engaging for all.
