Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Ford 250 Super Duty we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the DeeZee tailgate assist custom tailgate lowering system for pickup trucks. Part number DZ43203.What the DeeZee tailgate assist system's going to do, it's going to help you with loading the vehicle with one hand. As you can see, the shock is going to prevent the tailgate from slamming open. All you're going to need is one kit for your tailgate. It's going to be a custom fit design. It's going to come with the necessary hardware and there's going to be no drilling required. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's show you how to get it installed.First thing we need to do is on our nutsert we need to adjust the head of the bolt from the washer, 3/4 of an inch. If you loosen the nut here like this, you'll be able to turn the bolt itself. We want the head of the bolt to be 3/4 of an inch from the washer. Pretty close. We're about 3/4 of an inch there.Next we're going to install our nutsert and blind nut, we're going to slide it right into this hole right at the edge of our tailgate like that. And we'll take a 13 millimeter wrench and an M6 Allen wrench and you want to make sure that you're only turning the wrench itself not the Allen wrench. The Allen wrench you need to hold it still. You want to turn the wrench clockwise. One thing you want to make sure you don't do you don't want to over tighten these 'cause you can strip the threads.Once your blind nut is in there tight where it won't spin, move around, then we're going to take that this whole end section off. We'll take our Allen wrench, loosen like that. That's going to be the mounting location for one end of our shock.Next, we're going to take the ball mount that comes in your kit, you're going to get a little bit bottle of thread lock, we're going to put that on the threads here of our ball mount. Then we're going to thread it right into place. Use the 16 millimeter wrench and I'm going to snug that down. That's that.Next, we're going to torque it to the manufacturer's specifications. Next, we're going to move our tailgate cable. This little aluminum tab or metal tab here will just pull up. Lift on your tailgate a little bit and we'll just push our wire up like that. With the tool that comes in your kit, you're going to remove this bolt. Once we have that out, you're going to have a plate with another ball mount on it. It's going to go like that and you're going to reinstall the bolt you just removed out.Next we're going to remove our taillight. We're going to have a bolt here and a bolt here. Be using an eight millimeter socket. Now we're going to pull back toward to the back of the vehicle. I'm going to use a plastic trim panel tool. Kind of go right in between the edge of the light and the bed of the truck. Then slowly pry it out like that.So next we're going to take an 11 millimeter socket and we need to take these two nuts off to remove this rubber stopper that's inside. Next we'll reinstall our taillight. Next in your kit, you're going to have a Mylar sheet. What we're going to do is we're going to cut it in half. What this is going to do is you're going to put one piece right around this area and one piece on the tailgate itself. What this is going to do is this is going to protect the tailgate and the bed or the bed of the truck from getting scratched. We'll take some, little bit of rubbing alcohol and just clean up the areas. Now we can reinstall our cable. We're just going to push it over the nut. Pull it down til it clicks into place. Next we'll install our shock. We're going to install this narrow end toward the top like this. Just push it into place. And this side. That'll do it for the look at and installation of the DeeZee tailgate assist custom tailgate lowering system for pickup trucks, part number DZ43203 on our 2016 Ford F250 Super Duty.
