The History of Beat em Ups Part 1 - The 1980s
The 80s was the birthplace of the beat em up genre among many others. This video is the first part in looking into a few games that were part of this evolution. Hope you enjoy it. Little side note: I included Final Fight as a 1989 game since it was released in that year in Japan. I also wanted to include the arcade game Tough Turf from 1988 since it was a collaboration between Sega and Sunsoft and was Sega's first entry to the belt scrolling format. I could not find a good dump on that game.
