On this trip through Mangalore roads we travel from Surathkal Junction to Haleyangady via Pavanje bridge along NH 66. The highway in question connects Panvel to Cape Comorin, passing through the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It is noted that taking a right turn at Surathkal and going straight will take you to Katipalla, MRPL and eventually Bajpe. However, we go along NH 66 past Surathkal Express bus stand towards Thadambila followed by Dadda Kopla. I have no idea why the latter is called so and found it to be so on Google. Locals usually call it BSNL quarters since there is a BSNL quarter there. Taking the road proceeding to the RHS at Dodda Kopla will take you to Madya, Katipalla and MRPL. Meanwhile, just after Dodda Kopla there is a road going left through a dwara and it will take you to NITK Beach which also has a lighthouse. We continue along the highway past the National Institute of Technologh Karnataka (NITK) which is followed by Surathkal Toll gate which technically is functioning illegally. This is so because along the highway, there are two tollgates functioning in close proximity than permisible as per highway rules. We then pass by Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences at Mukka and reach Pavanje bridge located across Nandini River. Proceeding along the highway we go past a diagonal road on the LHS a little before Haleyangady, which leads to Sashitlu beach. We then reach Haleyangady junction where taking the road on the RHS will take you to SKodi via Pakshikere. The road on the LHS will take you to Sashitlu beach. This vlog gives information concerning prominent location along NH 66 from Surathkal junction to Haleyangady via Pavanje bridge including Surathkal junction, Surathkal express bus stand, NH 66, Thadambail, Dodda Kopla, Way to NITK beach, NITK, Surathkal Tollplaza, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences, Mukka, Pavanje Beach, Way to Sashitlu beach, Way to Pakshikere and Haleyangady junction.
