Vazen 40mm T2.0 anamorphic Cine (Tested on GH5S) Anamorphic lens is probably the most cinematic lens you can get straight out of the box. It doesn’t matter what aperture or what camera you use. When u put on an anamorphic lens, your image just look so good. Especially when shooting at night. You get that really cool blue lines. Although anamorphic lens might not be everyones cup of tea. Such as, the soft image. And it takes long time to process in post. (Calculate the size and de-squeeze your image. Also some camera might not have the desqueeze on your camera. Then you have to get an external monitor that let you see the anamorphic shots. Also the way how you shoot is slightly different than what you would normally do too. Like shooting a lot of backlighting shots to create that cool blue lines. Overall, I think the Vazen 40mm T2 is a very cool lens. I love the look coming out of it. Very cinematic. But I reckon the lens is a bit too pricy. Especially for the price you can buy so many good MFT lenses. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying its not worth it. If you love shooting with 1.8x anamorphic lens, this is a fantastic choice. Note: The lens was about 110mm filter thread, so I could get the right Mattbox to work just that lens (My bad) so there were a few shots that I had to stop it down to f/8.0 to keep my shutter speed not that off.
