Tent Talks Tunes: South Florida punk rock inspirations

South Florida was (and still is) a plastic, superficial, trendy, paved over garbage heap that was (and still is) hostile toward any kind of underground music and art. I should know. I grew up there. So you can imagine the seismic impact of discovering the local punk/ hardcore scene. The bands... the zines... the venues.... the showgoers.... a whole new world was revealed to me. A world that inspires me to this day. On this episode of TTT I show and tell some of my original KBD (that's Killed By Death) era hardcore records. Every one is the original vinyl I purchased when they were new. Some still have the original price tags! They are the bands who showed the way in a culturally dangerous environment: The Eat, Charlie Pickett, Gay Cowboys In Bondage, Roach Motel, and so many others. Take a look at the records and dig the stories of how they helped make me the performing artist I am today. We'll also talk a bit about junk mail, collage, the new GG Allin book by Len Colby, upcoming gigs, and the chemical composition of Danbury Tap vs. Hickory Tap. Believe me... there IS a difference. On top of that, he is the bass player for Antiseen, bassist for Ultrabunny, guitar player for They Hate Us, bass man for the Bloody Apostles, and purveyor of acoustic guitar punk rock all over the world.
