For use with the Yellow Lego “Ferrari” Differential Gear Set. 12 studs to 40 studs wide. A triple set is possible. You must state how many studs wide you want the finished assembly to be. Carbon tubes will be cut and finished to length. Or you’d have to cut the tube into 2 tubes and press the cones on to the correct position. The finished assembly with carbon tubes can be from 10 studs wide, to 40 studs wide. At 10 studs wide, the carbon tube surfaces cannot be seen, and large wheels would have to be used to allow the L and the T-Clamps to fit inside them. 3D printed in PETG Thermoplastic at 255°C. at 0.2mm layer height. 3D printed parts can have fine plastic hairs (flock), artefacts and bumps that can easily be removed. Included in Double Rigid Axle Set: 14x Bearings to fit Lego axles. Double metal shielded. Stainless steel. 4x Genuine Carbon Fibre Tubes – Twill weave gloss finish. – Cut to your specified stud length. 3x 3D Printed Differential Case Half with Pinion Stem and axle ball holes. 1x 3D Printed Differential Case Half – Blank End. 8x 3D Printed Tophats to fit bearings into the carbon tubes. 3x 3D Printed Pinion Bearing Carrier. 2x 3D Printed L-Clamps to connect your suspension and tie rods to the carbon tubes. 2x 3D Printed T-Clamps to connect your suspension and tie rods to the carbon tubes. 4x 3D Printed Cones. (Pressed onto the Carbon tubes). 16x M3 x 8 Bolts bolt to fit the Cones the Differential Casings. 16x M3 Nylock Nuts to be fitted inside the Differential Casings. 4x M3 Nylock Nuts to be fitted to the L and T-Clamps. 4x M3 x 12mm Socket Cap Screws for use with the L-Clamps. Assembly: 1. Use a Technic Brick to both push a bearing onto a black Lego axle and to space the bearing 1 stud from the end of the axle. Do this twice for your wheel axles. You may want to glue those bearings that sit right next to the differential as they will prevent the wheel axles from pulling-out. 2. Press 1 bearing into each of the 4 Tophats. 3. Press 2 bearings into the Pinion Bearing Carrier. (Biggest Tophat with a double chamfer). 4. Fit your 14T Bevel Gear Half (69762) to an axle of your choice, consider gluing it on. 5. Fit the assembled Pinion Bearing Carrier to the 3D printed Diff. Case Half from the inside. 6. Press the Nylock nuts into the Differential Case Halves, and the L-Clamps. 7. Assemble your differential with axle, bearings in Tophats in the carbon tubes. 8. Place your Lego differential and axles and carbon tubes into the Diff Case half with pinion. 9. Bolt the cones on with 2x M3 x 8mm bolts on each side. Check your Diff spins freely. 10. Place on the Diff Case Half with Blank End. Bolt on with the other 4x M3 x 8mm bolts. 11. Fit the M3 x 12mm Socket Cap Screws to the L-Clamps. 12. Fit the T-Clamps to the ends of the carbon tubes in a 0-90 degree orientation. 13. Repeat for the 2nd Rigid Axle. 14. Link the Rigid axles together with Lego cross axles, pieces like Lego Joint with 3L axle (52730) and steering joint (52731). Parts will be made available individually as spares, soon. You may want to use a Technic brick with pinholes to press the bearing onto your axle. These are a push or sliding fit on axles in other colours. Bearings can be adhered to Lego axles with a tiny amount of super glue applied to the axle. Like Loctite 406: Low-viscosity cyanoacrylate (super glue), ideal for bonding plastics and metals.
