The Iron Goat Loop trail located West of Stevens Pass, WA is the site of the 1910 avalanche, the deadliest avalanche in US history. This is a unique hike filled with history, tunnels and snow sheds. In this video, I share as much information about this trail that I have found during my research. Details of the loop hike: 6-7 miles round trip 957 feet elevation gain Easy hike in the summer time, more challenging with snow. Microspikes might be beneficial int he winter time. Go counter-clockwise to avoid the slick steep way down Check out the NW Avalanche Center at https://nwac.us/ before going to as this trail does cross avalanche prone area.
