Our conversation with Upasana Kamineni Konidela, a humanitarian, an entrepreneur, a beautiful partner, and an expecting mom, gave us an insight into her empathetic and fighting spirit. Carrying ahead the legacy of her grandfather, Dr. Prathap C Reddy, the visionary Founder Chairman of Apollo Hospitals, she is the founder of URLife and MD-Family Health Plan Insurance. She was raised to treat people with love, respect, and dignity — her grandfather taught her the true meaning of philanthropy and that in serving the human kind lies real joy. As in her own words, “I was on the sets of ‘Naatu-Naatu’ in Ukraine while they were filming the entire routine. I had to be there for Ram because he was literally shaking and I was there to support him emotionally. He has always been there for me in my most tough times at work and also stood hand-in-hand in my successes. We met through common friends and got married in our late 20s. Ram has taught me to rise in love, and has always been my guide and a calming factor. The Oscars in LA with him were my most memorable moments and literally felt like a vacation with our RRR family.” “I want to be known for my worth, not because of my birth. She married renowned Telugu Actor Ram Charan in 2012, and was recently seen supporting and vouching for her husband and team RRR’s Oscar winning song — Natu Natu! About Humans of Bombay – Humans of Bombay is a movement that started 8 years ago. We believe that every person has a story to tell and we want to help them tell these stories. In these years we’ve published stories across genres – stories of love, hope, faith and courage. And through our storytelling, we’ve built an engaged community of over 4.5M! Our idea is simple – to strike a chord with our community and catalogue the beat of humanity, one story at a time.
