It's a simple procedure performed under local anesthesia, causing no changes in sexual function or performance. However, like any surgical procedure, it carries some potential risks: • Bleeding (Hematoma): This is less common with a no-scalpel technique. Small hematomas usually resolve on their own, while larger ones may require drainage. In rare cases, a hematoma can become infected, leading to more serious complications. • Infection: Mild infections can be treated with antibiotics. Severe infections may require drainage. In some cases, an infection can lead to a more serious condition, such as cellulitis or abscess. • Sperm Granuloma: This is a small, sometimes tender lump that rarely requires treatment. Sperm granulomas can form when sperm become trapped in the scar tissue that forms after a vasectomy. • Congestion: This is a tender buildup of sperm and white blood cells that can occur after a vasectomy. It usually resolves with anti-inflammatory medication. Congestion can be uncomfortable, but it is not a serious health risk. • Post-Vasectomy Pain Syndrome (PVPS): This is a rare condition that can cause severe pain. It may require vasectomy reversal or nerve division. PVPS is believed to be caused by nerve damage that occurs during the vasectomy procedure. • Recanalization or Failure: This is when a channel of sperm flow develops between the cut ends of the vas deferens. It can lead to unplanned pregnancy. Recanalization is more likely to occur if the vasectomy is performed incorrectly or if the patient has a history of certain medical conditions. It's important to note that the risks of vasectomy are generally low. The failure rate is less than 0.5%, and there is no evidence to support a link between vasectomy and prostate cancer. Before undergoing a vasectomy, it's important to discuss the potential risks and benefits with your healthcare provider. ▶️ 00:00 Risks of Vasectomy 00:07 About Vasectomy 00:33 Hematoma (Bleeding) 01:28 Vasectomy Infection 01:57 Sperm Granuloma 02:20 Congestion 02:35 Post-Vasectomy Pain Syndrome (PVPS) 02:52 Vasectomy Recanalization or Failure 03:09 Early vs. Late Recanalization 03:18 Risk of Unplanned Pregnancy 03:48 Vasectomy and Prostate Cancer Myth 04:28 Key Takeaways on Vasectomy Risks If you like this video, please SUBSCRIBE and don’t forget to press the bell🔔, 👍like, comment and share! ------- ▶️ Follow me on: • Facebook: / drgsimplevas • Instagram: / drg_simplevas • LinkedIn: / esgarguarin • Twitter: / esgarmd ------- ▶️ Other videos: • SimpleVas Mobile Vasectomy Clinic: • SimpleVas Mobile Vasectomy Clinic • No Necesitará Una Muestra en El Futuro: • No Necesitará Una Muestra en El Futuro • ¿Qué es una vasectomía y cómo se hace?: • ¿Qué es una vasectomía y cómo se hace? • Counseling Video Spanish: • Counseling Video Spanish ------- #risksofvasectomy #aftervasectomy #DrGSimpleVas #vasectomycomplications #vasectomysideeffects #vasectomyhematoma #vasectomycongestion #vasectomyformen #spermgranuloma #vasectomy #simplevas
