It's important to remember that implants don't actually lift your nipple and so when a lift is needed it requires a separate procedure. The way that I tell in my office is by looking at the position of your nipple in relation to the fold beneath your breast. If your nipple is at or above and there's little excess skin at the bottom of your breast then you probably only need an augmentation. If your nipple is below the crease or there's a larger amount of excess skin at the bottom of your breast you probably will need a lift along with your augmentation.
