Wind Peaks, I'm a little embarrassed to say, is the first hidden objects game that I've ever put a serious amount of time into. Now I know what I was missing out on. On first hearing about the objectives of such a game, simply finding objects that are hidden within an interactive landscape, the idea seems a bit silly. Wind Peaks proves the genre can be more than mindless searching for miscellaneous items though. It comes packaged with a delightfully peaceful soundtrack, fun cartoon graphics, and a few drops of humor that tie the whole experience together. While I don't think it is going to convert gamers that otherwise wouldn't give the hidden objects genre a second glance, I do think that it will be highly regarded by those familiar with the genre. I'm glad I was able to spend a couple hours playing and sharing this game with my family, and I think that other HOB players will likely feel the same way.
