If you already watched this on my stories yesterday, then you can ignore this post, but I wanted to post this on my feed so everyone can see why I use the soil mixture that I use. In this video I show what happens when you water regular soil without any additives like bark or perlite vs when you water with my fast draining soil mixture. You can see that the water gathers at the top of the pot and doesn’t drain properly. Once it finally drains, it becomes more compact with even less aeration in the soil. Not only does this choke the roots of your plant and lead to root rot, but this is also a breeding ground for fungus gnats and other critters that love moisture. Making your own soil is really worth it and your plants will love you for it!
