It was here that the disciples waited for Jesus (and fell asleep) while he prayed before being arrested. The Church of All Nations (The Church of Agony) marks the traditional spot where Jesus is believed to have prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane before being arrested and put on trial. The complex was built with the help of 12 different countries, hence its name. Some of the olive trees here are 2,000 years old! The Kidron Valley is between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives. It is believed that the resurrection of the dead will begin here when Jesus, the Messiah, returns. This part of the Kidron Valley is also called the Valley of Jehosafat.
