Apex was a scrapped gamemode early in the development of Redout 2, sharing a lot of similarities with the existing Arena, Last Man Standing, and Speed gamemodes. Essentially, you need to survive as long as possible with permanent ship damage and no natural regen. Every time you pass a checkpoint, your current heat is zeroed out. Every time you complete a lap, you receive a full heal, full heat zero, an increased top speed, and a reduced time limit to complete a lap. If you fail to complete a lap in the allotted time or crash, the run ends. It shares a lot of similarities with the "Survival" mode in BallisticNG (or the "Zone" mode from WipEout), but seeing something like this has been quite some fun. This was discovered by Dandy in the Redout community discord and was eventually implemented as a whole event that replaces the Master Trial in the game's files.
