Pyaasa (Eternally Thirsty) is a 2002 Hindi film directed by A. Muthu. The film tells the story of Suraj (Aftab Shivdasani), a young man, full of dreams, aspirations, desire, but no money. He is desperate for money. He meets the anchor of his life, Sheetal Oberoi (Yukta Mookhey in her first major leading role in Hindi cinema), boss of a Mega Corporate company, who a lot of money with her. Summary of film: Suraj Thakur (Aftab Shivdasani) is one of three children in the Thakur household. He has a brother, Prem (Zulfi Sayed), and a sister, Suman (Saadhika). Suraj does not measure up to his dad's (Govind Namdeo) expectations and is often spoken to at home. Suraj wants to be rich quick, and marry one of the most beautiful girls in the world. His dreams become reality when he meets with Sheetal (Yukta Mookhey), who is a multi-millionaire business-woman. Though Suraj has no affection for Sheetal, he decides he can get really wealthy if he marries Sheetal. But Sheetal spurns him, and as a result Suraj spins a web of deception that forces Sheetal to marry him, and at the same time, teach his father a lesson for criticising him all the time. But Suraj is in for a surprise, as fate has other plans for him. Aftab Shivadasani is an Indian film actor, producer and model known for his works in Bollywood. He started his acting career as a child artist with the film Mr. India. In 1999, he starred in Ram Gopal Varma's Mast, for which he received the Zee Cine Award for Best Male Debut. In 2000, he appeared in Vikram Bhatt's Kasoor alongside Lisa Ray, for which he received Zee Cine Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role. Yukta Mookhey is an Indian actress, model and the winner of the Miss World 1999 pageant. Mookhey was born in Bangalore and was raised in Dubai until Mookhey was seven years of age. The Mookhey family moved back to Mumbai in June 1986. Her mother Aruna runs a grooming consulting firm and her father was a doctor. After school, Mookhey studied zoology at V.G. Vaze college. Mookhey has a diploma in computer sciences and has studied Hindustani classical music for three years. The 49th Miss World pageant was held on 4 December 1999 at Olympia, London. Mookhey was crowned Miss World 1999 beating 93 delegates from other countries. She became the fourth woman from India to win Miss World after Reita Faria in 1966, Aishwarya Rai in 1994 and Diana Hayden in 1997.
