Today we take a ride on one of 4 Presidents based at Redditch on the 58 from Church Hill to the Redditch Bus Station (so half the route). According to the timetable supplied on the Diamond website, the entire route takes 30mins. When it was new to Lothian, it was used on, and wore branding for, the 100 (Airport Shuttle from Waverley Station to the Airport, fast). Because of this, there are tables downstairs on it. When we get to Auxerre Avenue (10:10), we wait time, as we had overtaken one of the 65 plate Micro-Hybrid Streetlites (32216/SO65 LRV), which shouldn't have happened as the route is roughly every 10 minutes. However, the driver was decent enough to wait time to help cause a balance in the frequency. The Streetlite on the 57 (other side of "Track"), is SO65 LRN (32215). Track is the name given to the 57/58 Matchborough Circulars as the route runs partially along a designated bus way, which was built as a part of the Redditch New Town. In 2013, 5 of these Presidents were transferred to Redditch, which were V540-544 ESC (40540-544), all transferred from Preston Bus, where they were originally bought by the Rotala PLC for. However, in late 2015, V541 ESC (40541) was transferred back up to Preston, where it is mostly used on schools. At 16:30, we see one of 2 "new" Johnsons Enviro 200s, which were stock built. Thanks for taking the time to watch. Feel free to subscribe to stay upto date with when I upload!
