In this video we introduce the TP200 studio pedestal, a key product in the range and a highly flexible asset for most forms of studio production. ★Find us on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! The TP200 has a maximum payload of 80kg (176.3lbs), making it the perfect choice for most modern studio configurations. With the right pan and tilt head, the system can carry everything from simple configurations (camera, lens, hand controls, basic accessories) through to larger systems incorporating teleprompters and talent monitors. Compatible Shotoku heads include the SG900, TE-12, TE-23 and SX300 with 4-Bolt flat fitting. An M70 Mitchell mount adapter is available if required. As with all Shotoku pedestals, the height column incorporates Perfect Balance technology based on a low pressure air system. This system eliminates the need for a mechanical compressor to pressurize. The result is a secure and stable platform at any point in its height range. There is no drop off or push back. Just consistent and reliable shot acquisition time after time. The entirety of this balance system is incorporated solely within the two stage column, by design. The benefit of this system is fewer connections and air reservoirs which reduces unwanted air leakage, and provides a virtually service-free experience over the life of the unit. The base of the TP200 includes storage for the six provided 600 gram (1.3lb) trim weights which provide fast, simple and easy to reach adjustment for any fluctuations in the studio operating temperature throughout the day. We recommend using three of these weights when first balancing the pedestal to be able to accommodate for such adjustments. The base mass and solid construction of the interface to the column offer the major benefit of stability and rigidity of the column. This provides a rock solid platform for image acquisition much improved over a more portable type design, especially during dolly moves. With a minimum height of 690mm (27.2in) and maximum height of 1,460mm (40in), the TP200 provides opportunity for creativity with an impressive on-shot stroke of 770mm (30in). Also located on the operator led design of the column is an ergonomic and easy to reach drag adjustment control for fine tuning of performance, and a useful column lock allows for extra control when locking off a shot. The TP200 steering ring is 660mm (26in) in diameter which facilitates smooth direction changes without impacting on the stability of the shot, and steering is interchangeable between crab and steer mode through a large, easy to reach foot operated blue button. The base also features a red foot operated brake, countersunk to avoid accidental activation by operators. 130mm (5in) wheels provide smooth movement across the floor by reducing inertial resistance when moving from a static position. and an integrated adjustable cable guard helps prevent floor cables from snagging during dolly moves. Sections of the base feature high-grip surfaces for solid and secure foot contact and effortless operation. Finally, the added feature of a base mounted cable clamp ensures the system cables are securely attached to the pedestal so there is no unwanted strain or pull on the camera system when transitioning during operation. The TP200 is also available fully encoded as the TP200VR, which when combined with a Shotoku VR pan and tilt head make it the perfect partner for creating incredible virtual reality and augmented reality studio productions. The TP200 exemplifies world class design and quality in a cost efficient package. A rock-solid platform for image acquisition, it is capable of delivering high-level performance even in the most demanding studio environments.
