Let’s go for a night out in Malaysia to check out what goes on and whether it is safe at night. Penang was full of surprises after dark from amazing live music, late night cakes and fire dancing on the beach. Of course we also visited a Hawker Centre for some true Malaysian night life 🍲 Although some people enjoyed a bit of alcohol, there wasn’t the intense drinking culture I’m used to back in the UK where the aim is to get as blootered as possible, and the ruckus that then follows. Everywhere we tried had a peaceful atmosphere and we never heard a raised voice, any tension or anger, or anyone drunk and causing a scene. Families and people of all ages were all around and it was a treat to see that third space culture I’m always talking about in action.
