Tears streamed down Shaheen's face as she rushed to the hospital. When she saw Sarosh lying in a hospital bed, battered and broken, her heart broke. He tried to smile weakly, saying, "I promised I'd come back to you, didn't I?" But the wounds were too deep, and Sarosh's strength began to wane. Shaheen remained by his side, holding his hand, reading their old letters, and reminding him of their dreams. She whispered poems and painted pictures for him, just as he had done for her when they had first fallen in love. As Sarosh's condition grew worse, they decided to get married right there in the hospital, fulfilling a part of their dream. Shaheen held Sarosh's hand and said her vows through tears, "In sickness and in health, till death do us part." The love they shared in that moment was bittersweet, knowing that death was near. In the quiet of the hospital room, Sarosh took his last breath, and Shaheen's world shattered. He had come back to her, but they never got a chance to build the life they had dreamt of.
