The 420th Angel’s Vengeance unit deployed into the district ahead of all other forces, tasked with a singular objective: strip the city of Terminid Spore Towers and restore visibility for follow-on operations. The megacity had been saturated with airborne contamination, rendering long-range targeting unreliable and masking enemy movement across vertical terrain. Angel’s Vengeance entered alone to correct that imbalance. The unit operates with a level of autonomy uncommon even among Helldivers. Designed to function with limited resupply or logistical dependency, Angel’s Vengeance fields a high-tech, energy-focused loadout optimized for prolonged engagements against Terminids. They waste nothing—no ammunition, no movement, no Helldivers. Every action is deliberate, every shot accounted for, every life well spent. Where other formations rely on numbers or massed fire, Angel’s Vengeance relies on mobility and mutual coverage. They move as a single system: two operators advancing together, never separated, never unsupported. To fight alone is not part of their doctrine. Their efficiency has earned them a conflicted reputation. Civilian and SEAF bio-collection teams value the unit for the sheer number of Terminids neutralized, even as they contend with the immense volume of remains left behind. High Command values results above all else, and Angel’s Vengeance consistently delivers eliminated targets at a cost-to-gain ratio few units can match—saving matériel and manpower. The operators of Angel’s Vengeance are the surviving sons and daughters of Angel’s Venture, veterans whose lineage traces back to the planet’s liberation and the long era of containment prior. Many have no homes or families left to return to; the planet itself is gone. What remains is purpose—and an ancestral hatred for the Terminids passed down through generations. Their families served as Bug Wardens, custodians of controlled Terminid populations during the age of containment. They learned early that the enemy was not mindless prey, but adaptive, predatory, and intelligent. That understanding shapes their combat philosophy. Angel’s Vengeance possesses deep familiarity with ARC weapons, once used to control and contain the Bugs, and they carry that knowledge into every engagement. They hunt the enemy with the certainty that the Terminids are not simple beasts, but one of the most dangerous biological life forms humanity has ever faced—lethal not through technology, but through instinct, evolution, and relentless aggression. When their primary objective was complete, the sky above the district was clear and visibility fully restored. The destruction of the Spore Towers stripped the Terminids of concealment and vertical dominance. Both divers did not immediately extract. Instead, the unit remained in the district, holding ground and securing key approaches while SEAF elements escorted civilian bio-collection teams through newly cleared zones. Only once the district was stabilized, collection operations completed, and control firmly established did Angel’s Vengeance withdraw. They extracted later—quietly, without ceremony—having done what they have always done: clearing the way, remaining behind when others move forward, and ensuring the work is finished before they leave. Angel's Vengeance paved the way for the next unit's operations. The 420th Liberators were making planetfall.
