Want to make a number cake but don’t have a stencil? In this video, I’ll show you how to make this trendy cake without one! All you need is some printing paper (&/OR acetate paper) 💛 For more videos and decorating inspiration, visit my social media pages: INSTAGRAM: / avaesque FACEBOOK: / avaesque NUMBER CAKE RECIPE: 2 1⁄2 cups Flour (475g) 3 tsp Baking powder 3⁄4 tsp Baking Soda 3⁄4 tsp Salt 1 cup Sour Cream (280 ml) 1 cup Whole Milk (280 ml) 3 sticks Unsalted Butter 2 1⁄4 cup Sugar 550g 5 eggs 1 TBSP Vanilla ① Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit ② Combine dry ingredients and mix very well ③ In a measuring cup, combine the sour cream and whole milk. Heat it up in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Set aside. ④ Measure the eggs in a bowl and set aside. ⑤ Place the room temperature butter and sugar in a bowl and mix at high speed for 5-7 minutes, scraping the sides every couple of minutes. ⑥ Turn down the mixer to medium speed. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix until well combined for about 1-2 minutes, scraping the sides when needed. ⑦ Take about ⅓ of the dry ingredients and add it to the mixing bowl. Stir at a low speed just until it’s combined. Add half of the milk and sour cream mixture and mix until just combined. Repeat this step alternating between the wet and dry ingredients, ending with the last third of the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix. ⑧ Line two 9x13 pans with parchment paper and divide the batter. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Wrap and chill the cake. Cut out your desired shapes or numbers on a chilled cake.
