What happens to epoxy under high temperatures? And how hot does it actually need to be? This test was performed on a hot Texas summer day of about 100 degrees F, 38 degrees C. You'll be able to find hotter days than this. Yet even this temperature was enough to cause the epoxy fiberglass to bend noticeably compared to the vinylester fiberglass which remained straight. The epoxy remained hard the entire time and did not fail under a modest load of about 15 pounds. But the epoxy did bend and remained in its new shape after the test. Make sure to always read and follow all safety instructions for any equipment, tools, or materials that you use. It doesn't matter if they are electric or hand powered. And wear proper safety and protective gear, especially for your eyes, ears, and hands. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and never get in a hurry or do any work when you are not feeling well. Be careful of heavy lifting or awkward situations. Finally, use common sense. These are not all the guidelines you should follow. They are just common advice that will help prevent injury. If you are unsure or uncomfortable, stop and ask for help. #diy #epoxy #epoxyresin #heatresistant #boatbuilding #fiberglass #buildingmaterials
