4K Virtual Walk Tajimi Monastery, in Tajimi, Gifu, Japan

Tajimi Monastery was founded in 1930 by Father Mall, a missionary of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD), a Catholic order. At that time, it served as the headquarters of the SVD in Japan and hosted numerous overseas missionaries. In 1948, the Catholic Church in Tajimi, located within the monastery grounds, was relocated near Tajimi Station. In 1962, the SVD headquarters was moved to Nagoya city. At Tajimi Monastery in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, grape cultivation for wine production has been practiced since 1933. Tajimi Monastery is the only monastery in Japan engaged in wine production. The filming of this video took place during the winter, and unfortunately, the grapes were not in season. In Japan, the three major monasteries are as follows: 　1.
