Experience a sunset kayak run on water so still it looks like liquid glass. From the "honking" squadrons of geese to a recurring encounter with a curious river otter, this is a deep dive into the beauty (and reality) of our coastal waterways. In this video, I’m paddling through a nautical, salty-air industrial area where the river turned into a perfect mirror. You’ll see the sky and sun reflected with a clarity that’s almost surreal. Along the way, we’re joined by sea gulls, buffleheads, and massive flights of geese—make sure to listen for their "squadron" calls as the music dips. [The Wildlife & The Otter] The star of the show is a local otter who decided to tag along! I ran into him several times throughout the paddle, including a final greeting right at my pier as I returned to the beach. [The Music] The soundtrack features chill, funky music to match the mood. The opening track is an original score written and performed by myself (Sitison). [A Note on Conservation] While the water is transparent and beautiful, you’ll also see the reality of our rivers. I came across some driftwood and a torn-up Mylar heart balloon left over from Valentine’s Day. PSA: Mylar balloons suck!
