An 89-year-old woman has spoken out about the moment she became a victim of fraud. May Gorvan, from Gravesend, was at home watching television when she answered a call from a man claiming to be a police officer. The man told May her card had been fraudulently used and advised her to call her bank. However, he never ended the call. Thinking she was talking to her bank, May told the caller her PIN number and even set up a password 'what's up doc' for the courier collecting her card. May handed her card over and £300 was later taken from her account. The Head of the Serious Economic Crime Unit at Kent Police advises others what they can do to avoid becoming a victim of fraud and asks viewers to share Kent Police's crime prevention advice with their family and friends.
