Kodumaine Viis (Homeland Melody), for Brass quintet

Composer: Heino Eller Arranger: Julian Kwoun Today is Estonian Independence Day. In honour of this meaningful day as a former bachelor degree graduate of the Estonian Academy of Music, I would like to upload my arrangement of possibly Estonia's most prominent composer, Heino Eller's Kodumaine Viis. This piece is perhaps considered Eller's most well known piece especially for the Estonians, originally for string orchestra, and I have had the privilege to perform the piano solo version for a piano exam during my studies to a Heino Eller piano works specialist, Sten Lassmann. Arrangement was completed Feb. 7 within 4 hours when I was exhausted of arranging for only string instruments these past few weeks. I was suddenly reminded the nearing of the Estonian Independence Day and by choosing the brass quintet for the first time, I hope to arrange more works for this specific ensemble and be more familiar with since it was and still kind of is one of my least favourite chamber ensembles. Midi from Musesounds. #musescore #brassquintet #estonia 오늘은 제가 학사과정을 밟았던 에스토니아 독립 기념일입니다. 이날을 개인적으로 기리기 위해, 아마도 에스토니아에서 제일 중요한 작곡가, Heino Eller의 제일 유명한 곡 Kodumaine Viis를 보여드립니다. 원곡은 현악 오케스트라를 위한 곡이고, 운 좋게 Eller 피아노 전문가로 알려진 Sten Lassmann에게 피아노 시험 곡으로 이 곡을 피아노 독주용 버전으로 연주해 드렸습니다. 편곡은 2월 7일, 4시간 만에 제가 지난 몇 주 동안 현악 편곡 작업에 지쳤을 때 완성했습니다. 에스토니아 독립 기념일이 곧 다가온다는 사실을 갑자기 접하게 되었고, 무엇보다 그다지 선호하지 않은 금관 5중주를 선택 함으로써 훗날에도 더 많은 금관 5중주 편곡을 선보이고 싶은 바람입니다. 다시 한번 제 에스토니아 동료 및 친구들에게 좋은 소식을 전하며 진심으로 축하합니다!!
