Mega Man (World) V DX: Part 1: Mercury Stage

For the first four Game Boy games of Mega Man, they felt like bite-sized version of the NES games, though they did do their own things, too, and this got more and more pronounced as more sequels got released. But the last game of this sub-series, #5, is the most unique of the bunch. Whereas Mega Man World IV stopped at the first four of NES Mega Man 5's eight Robot Masters, this game has a completely new set of robots to fight (probably a necessity given that the NES didn't get Mega Man 6 yet at the time). And like most of the others, I'm playing a DX hack that gives this game the full colors of a Game Boy Color game. In fact, this was actually the first of these five games to get this treatment! ---------- Here's the story of the game, and this time, it can be viewed as soon as the game's started up, rather than waiting at the title screen. Mega Man had previously saved the world against the evil Dr. Wily (at least) four times. This time, it felt like the world was finally going to know everlasting peace... Not for long! Rock, and his little sister Roll (making her first and only appearance in a Game Boy game), were wandering through the fields to take care of some errands for their creator Dr. Light. Suddenly, the siblings were attacked by a new kind of Robot Master that was completely out of this world: Terra, leader of the Stardroids! He had sought to battle Mega Man! So then, Roll fled the scene while Rock suited up into Mega Man to take Terra on. However, he realized that the fully-charged power of his Super Mega Buster was ineffective against Terra. Terra then struck down Mega Man with one shot. With no one left to stop Terra, he was free to attack several other cities with the help of more of his Stardroids. When Mega Man regained consciousness, he was now back in Dr. Light's lab. Roll likely went back to tell him what happened and then Dr. Light picked Mega Man up. Light had just finished modifying Mega Man's Mega Buster, replacing its Super Mega Buster Charge Shot with the Mega Arm, a weapon powerful enough to damage the Stardroids. And so, Mega Man's next mission was immediately made known: Find the Stardroids and take them down! ---- Starting up the game proper, Dr. Light explains most of what was said in the opening. However, on top of this, he has built a new ally to join Mega Man on this mission. A green robot cat named Tango. Rush will also accompany Mega Man again, AFTER you regain his usual functions, again. And in typical cat fashion, Tango doesn't like Rush very much, and I'm sure that dog doesn't like him, either. Tango's move is to just lock-on to enemies and Spin Dash against them. You can kinda control how he moves, too, based on holding Up or Down and/or jumping. ---------- Again, the Robot Masters to hunt down in this game are completely new, and seemingly have nothing to do with Wily, at that. These Stardroids are all named after different planets in our solar system. ---------- First, I take on Mercury's stage, which seems to take place in a factory full of conveyor belts, as well as a huge crusher section. ---- Eventually, I run into Mercury, himself. The way Mercury moves around is to turn into separate bodies of goo. The smaller ones tread back towards him in different ways that you have to dodge. But also, his Special Weapon is the Grab Buster. If any of those sparkles hit you, you lose items! And it can be most of any you have on you, including your Tanks. It's not a threatening move, more so it's an annoying one to let yourself get hit by if you were holding onto something good. Beat Mercury, and you will gain his Grab Buster, though it will mostly just rob enemies of their health to give to Mega Man and not much else.
