She began her career approximately a decade before her untimely death, initially performing in Gujranwala before relocating to Lahore around 2012 to further her career. On November 24, 2016, after concluding a performance, Kismat Baig was en route to her residence when her vehicle was ambushed in Lahore's Harbanspura area. Assailants intercepted her car, opening fire and inflicting multiple gunshot wounds to her legs, stomach, and hands. Despite being rushed to Services Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries due to excessive blood loss. The investigation into her murder revealed that her promoter, Rana Muzamil, orchestrated the attack. Muzamil, a businessman from Faisalabad, reportedly hired three assassins to carry out the killing after Kismat Baig did not comply with his directives. Police arrested Muzamil and his accomplices—Faheem, Tajamul, and Shahid—by tracing their mobile phone records. The tragic incident sent shockwaves through Lahore's artistic community, highlighting the vulnerabilities faced by performers in the region. In the aftermath, there were widespread calls for justice and enhanced security measures for artists.
