Pennsylvania Dutch Amish Recipes by Tess Cooks4u • Apple Fritter Cake Recipe ~ Just Like an A... ***************************************** The BEST Hamburger Burger Relish Recipe INGREDIENTS: 1 cup finely diced tomatoes 1 cup finely diced sweet onions (Vidalia) 1 cup finely diced roasted red bell pepper 1 cup finely diced Gherkin sweet pickles 1/2 seeded jalapeno finely diced - optional 1 tbsp butter 2-3 minced lg cloves garlic 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup chili sauce 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp paprika 1-2 tsp starch slurry 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper In a sauce pan on medium heat add butter, onions, salt and pepper. Stir and cook for 1 minute and add minced jalapeno. Stir and cook for 1 minute and add minced garlic. Stir for 30 seconds. Add tomatoes and let cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes fall apart. Add red wine, brown sugar and paprika. Stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Then add roasted red bell peppers, chili sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and simmer for 15 minutes. Add pickles and slurry. Bring up to boil and simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool. Add to jars and can store in fridge for up to a month.
