Heaven or Hell? OUR PROBLEM: ~ SIN - "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" (Romans 3:10 ..all verses taken from the King James Bible) "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) ~ BREAKING THE LAW - Exodus 20:1-17 says...-LYING...brakes God's 9th commandment. -STEALING...brakes the 8th commandment. *Looking at someone with LUST makes you an adulterer at heart (Matthew 5:28). You've broken the the 7th commandment. *Using God's name as a curse word breaks the 3rd commandment, and God says He will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain! *Hatred breaks the 6th commandment. God says it's the same as murder. That's right, hatred in God's eyes is the same as MURDER! (see 1 John 3:15) The Bible says in James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." __ THE RESULT: ~ DEATH - "For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23a ~ JUDGMENT - "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the JUDGMENT" Hebrews 9:27 ~ HELL - "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:15) "But the fearful (those not trusting God), and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8) "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." (Matthew 25:46) GOD DOES NOT SEND ANYONE TO HELL. We CHOOSE where we are going to spend eternity. __ THE GOOD NEWS: ~ SALVATION - "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. And He was buried and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." (I Corinthians 15:3-4) ~ RIGHTEOUSNESS - God made Jesus Christ to be sin for us, who knew no sin; so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21) ~ FORGIVENESS - "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;" (Ephesians 1:7) "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have ALL men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:3-4) __ THE GIFT: ~ ETERNAL LIFE - "For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23) "By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) __ THE PROMISE: ~ PEACE WITH GOD - "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:1) "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." (Romans 4:5) __ THE ASSURANCE: ~ SEALED - "In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise." (Ephesians 1:13) ~ ETERNAL LIFE - "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth NOT the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36) __ THE PRAYER OF THANKS: Dear God, I know that I have sinned against you, and that my sin would send me to hell forever! I believe that your Son Jesus Christ paid for all of my sins on the cross by shedding His innocent blood for me, and that he died, was buried, and then rose from the dead to justify me before you forever and give me eternal life as a free gift.
