Today, I'm going to review a beer from the North Coast Brewing Company, and it's their Old Rasputin, which is a Russian Imperial Stout. To me, not only is this an American craft beer classic, but it's also the first Imperial Stout -- of any kind -- that I tried. I loved it when I initially had it back in 2010, so let's see what I think about it nowadays! Commercial Description: Produced in the tradition of 18th Century English brewers who supplied the court of Russia's Catherine the Great, Old Rasputin seems to develop a cult following wherever it goes. It's a rich, intense brew with big complex flavors and a warming finish.
