Mike Seabolt was not afraid to step up and defend his district to challenge the TEA for picking and choosing which laws it wanted to follow. Marilyn Martin and former Marlin ISD superintendent Mike Seabolt were working well together and making gains in student achievement. Despite the turnaround successes which don't happen overnight, the TEA issued a letter to revoke Marlin ISD's accreditation and appointed a TEA conservator. That's when all hell broke loose.
