Police evacuated the people present in the building and cordoned off the area. The blaze started while a "Block Everything" protest was happening nearby. The “Block Everything” movement led to several protest actions across France on Wednesday. Protesters seeking to bring France to a standstill have clashed with police as they attempted to block bus and railway stations, roads, schools, universities and other strategic targets. Riot officers used tear gas to clear demonstrators in Paris and other major cities such as Lyon and Nantes. There were also dozens of protests in small provincial towns. By lunchtime, 295 people had been arrested across the country. Officials reported 273 protests, along with 157 blockages and 105 fires linked to the movement.
